FREQUENCY RANGE

1.8 Mc/s to 2.5 Mc/s. Two spot frequencies were allocated to each set [Type 12 and 13] typically in the region of 1.5MHz and 500kHz. Reception was achievable down to 70kHz.

Rotary. 0.5kW. Revs 2250. 80V AC 150 c/s. Slightly enhanced supply for Type 13.!

WHERE USED/FITTED

The Type 12 is a low powered spark transmitter/receiver which was fitted into Flotilla Leaders as the Auxiliary Set for short distance communications when in company. It also has an emergency set which is integral. By using a revolving spark gap, the output spark frequency is 300 c/s.
